Ruins of Lordaeron

Levels 16-227 bosses

Tirisfal Glades, ruins above Undercity, south of Brill; entrance coordinates unavailable.

Checked for ForeverClassic Era habit: check in game

Witherfang

Level ?? elite · Patrols King's Alley near the entrance with two Broodling escorts

Patrolling spider boss with two spider escorts. Kill the escorts, cure Leech Poison on the tank, and tank and spank.

Watch for
  • Leech PoisonCure poison

Poison on the tank: drains 15 health every 5 sec for 40 sec and heals Witherfang.

Group plan
Tank

Clear the mobs on her patrol path, then pull her to the group. Grab both spider escorts at once so they never reach the healer.

Healer

Cure Leech Poison on the tank if you are a druid, shaman or paladin. Priests can't remove it; keep Renew on the tank instead.

Damage

Kill the two spider escorts first, then Witherfang. Stun her when you can; there is nothing to dodge in this fight.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Use Cure Poison (14) to clear Leech Poison off the tank. Hibernate (18) can hold one escort out of the fight; the spiders here are beasts.

  • Hunter · your class

Use Scare Beast (14) on an escort that runs at the healer; the spiders here are beasts. Keep your pet on the escort the group kills first.

  • Mage · your class

Polymorph an escort if the tank can't hold both; the spiders here are beasts. Frost Nova (10) stops an escort that runs for the healer.

  • Paladin · your class

Use Purify (8) to remove Leech Poison from the tank. Hammer of Justice on Witherfang buys time while the group kills her escorts.

  • Priest · your class

Keep Renew on the tank, since priests can't cure Leech Poison. Use Power Word: Shield when both escorts hit the tank at once.

  • Rogue · your class

Open on the escort the group is killing. Use Evasion (8) if one turns on you, and Gouge (6) an escort that runs at the healer.

  • Shaman · your class

Use Cure Poison (16) to clear Leech Poison off the tank. Earthbind Totem slows an escort heading for the healer; Stoneskin Totem helps the tank.

  • Warlock · your class

Put Bane of Agony and Corruption on Witherfang while the group kills escorts. Have your Voidwalker Torment an escort off the healer.

  • Warrior · your class

Pull her to the group, then hold both escorts with Thunder Clap (usable in Defensive Stance) and Demoralizing Shout. Sunder Armor the first escort.

The Baron

Level ?? elite · End of a King's Alley hallway in the southeast, past the banshees

Hard-hitting abomination. Knockout stuns the tank and sends him after someone else, so keep the tank topped off and pick him back up fast.

Watch for
  • KnockoutTank

Big hit that knocks the target back and stuns it for 6 sec; he turns on someone else meanwhile.

  • TrampleSpread out

Hits nearby enemies for weapon damage plus a little more.

Group plan
Tank

Tank with your back to a wall so Knockout can't throw you into a pack. Stay near full health, and taunt him back as soon as the 6 sec stun ends.

Healer

Top the tank off before each Knockout; at low health it can kill. During the stun he turns on someone else, so heal that player until the tank taunts back.

Damage

Stand behind him in melee to avoid his frontal cleave; Trample still hits all around him. Ranged spread out. Stun him when you can and ease off after Knockout.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Keep Demoralizing Roar up in Bear Form and Growl him back once the stun ends. Healing: keep Rejuvenation on the tank before Knockout.

  • Hunter · your class

Turn your pet's Growl off. If he runs at the healer during the stun, Distracting Shot (12) pulls him to you; Concussive Shot slows him until the tank taunts.

  • Mage · your class

Stay at max range so Trample can't reach you. Stop casting for a few seconds after Knockout so he goes back to the tank, not you.

  • Paladin · your class

Hammer of Justice him while the tank is stunned. Tanking: with Seal of Fury on, Judgement taunts, so use it the moment the stun ends.

  • Priest · your class

Shield the tank with Power Word: Shield before Knockout lands. If he turns on you during the stun, use Fade (8) and step back to the tank.

  • Rogue · your class

Stay behind him. Use Feint (16) after Knockout so he doesn't pick you while the tank is stunned, and Evasion (8) if he turns on you anyway.

  • Shaman · your class

Drop Stoneclaw Totem when Knockout lands; it taunts him while the tank is stunned. Keep Stoneskin Totem near the melee for Trample.

  • Warlock · your class

Keep your Voidwalker close and have it Torment him if he heads for the healer during the stun. Hold Shadow Bolt until he's back on the tank.

  • Warrior · your class

Tank with your back to a wall; Iron Will (talent) shortens the stun. Keep Demoralizing Shout up and Taunt the second you can act again.

Viktor the Vile

Level ?? elite · Burned house southwest of Lordamere Overlook; click the fireplace

Optional

Optional event: five waves of undead, then Viktor, a hard hitter with Leech Poison. Mana is the real fight.

Watch for
  • Leech PoisonCure poison

Poison on the tank: drains 15 health every 5 sec for 40 sec and heals Viktor.

  1. WavesWaves 1–5

Click the fireplace to start. Five waves of undead come with little rest between them. Tank each wave in one spot, AoE it down and drink in any gap.

  2. ViktorWave 6

Viktor comes in as the last wave. Let the tank get aggro first; he swings hard and puts Leech Poison on the tank.

Group plan
Tank

Pick up each wave fast and hold it in one spot for AoE. When Viktor appears, get aggro before anyone attacks him; his swings hurt.

Healer

Start at full mana; the waves drain you before Viktor arrives. Ask for potions and self-healing. Cure Leech Poison on the tank if your class can.

Damage

AoE each wave once the tank has it, and heal yourself where you can. Hold damage on Viktor until the tank has aggro. Drink between waves.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Use Swipe (16) in Bear Form to hold three wave mobs at once. Healing: Cure Poison clears Leech Poison; drink to full before anyone clicks the fireplace.

  • Hunter · your class

Use Multi-Shot (18) on stacked waves. Traps work in combat in Forever; drop Immolation Trap (16) at your feet if a wave mob comes to you.

  • Mage · your class

Use Arcane Explosion and Flamestrike (16) on waves once the tank has them. Frost Nova a wave that runs for the healer. Conjure Water first.

  • Paladin · your class

Use Purify on Leech Poison. At 20, Consecration holds each wave around you; tanks keep Seal of Fury and Righteous Fury up.

  • Priest · your class

Shackle Undead (20) one wave mob to save mana. You can't cure Leech Poison, so keep Renew on the tank and drink between waves.

  • Rogue · your class

Hit the mob the tank marks, not loose ones. Use Feint (16) if a wave mob turns on you, and wait for the tank to open on Viktor.

  • Shaman · your class

Drop Searing Totem by each wave and use Fire Nova (12); it erupts at your Fire totem. Use Cure Poison (16) on Leech Poison.

  • Warlock · your class

Use Rain of Fire (20) on a stacked wave. Life Tap between waves, and Drain Life (14) to heal yourself if a mob slips through.

  • Warrior · your class

Hold each wave with Thunder Clap and Demoralizing Shout. Save Bloodrage for Viktor's arrival so you have rage to grab him first.

The Abandoned

Level ?? elite · Market Street statue by Lordamere Overlook; walk near it to start

Statue event: three waves of undead, then a caster who roots with Frost Nova, chills melee and drains the tank with Life Drain.

Watch for
  • Life DrainInterrupt

2 sec cast on the tank, then a magic debuff drains health to him every 4 sec for 16 sec.

  • Frost NovaStay back

Frost damage to everyone near him; roots them for up to 8 sec. The root is magic.

  • ChilledStay back

His Frost Armor chills melee who hit him: 30% slower movement and 25% slower attacks for 5 sec.

  1. WavesWaves 1–3

Walk up to the statue to start. Undead come down the corridors on both sides; grab them as they arrive. If one gets stuck in a corridor, go get it or the event stalls.

  2. The AbandonedWave 4

He steps out of the statue. Interrupt or stun Life Drain, expect Frost Nova roots, and let ranged carry the damage.

Group plan
Tank

Pick up each wave as it comes from both corridors. On the boss, Frost Nova roots you and Chilled slows your swings, so open with your best threat.

Healer

Start at full mana and heal from range so Frost Nova can't root you. Priests can use Dispel Magic (18) on Frost Nova roots and the Life Drain debuff.

Damage

Set an interrupt order for Life Drain; stuns work too. Ranged stay out of Frost Nova range. Melee expect Chilled to slow your attacks.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Bash (14) in Bear Form stops Life Drain; Feral Charge (talent, 20) does too. If Frost Nova roots you, shifting forms breaks the root.

  • Hunter · your class

Shoot from max range so Frost Nova can't root you; you have no interrupt yet. Use Multi-Shot (18) and your pet on the three waves.

  • Mage · your class

Cast from max range, clear of Frost Nova; Counterspell comes at 24, so leave interrupts to others. Use Flamestrike (16) on the waves.

  • Paladin · your class

Hammer of Justice stops Life Drain. Blessing of Freedom (18) frees an ally rooted by Frost Nova. At 20, Consecration helps hold the waves.

  • Priest · your class

Heal from range, clear of Frost Nova. Dispel Magic (18) clears Frost Nova roots and the Life Drain debuff on the tank. Shackle Undead (20) a wave mob.

  • Rogue · your class

Kick (12) Life Drain; agree on who kicks first. Gouge stops it if Kick is down. Keep Slice and Dice up while Chilled slows your attacks.

  • Shaman · your class

Save Earth Shock for Life Drain, not damage. On the waves, drop Searing Totem and use Fire Nova at it.

  • Warlock · your class

Stay well back from Frost Nova. Put Bane of Agony and Corruption on him; Drain Life (14) keeps you up if a wave mob reaches you.

  • Warrior · your class

Use Shield Bash (12) on Life Drain if you wear a shield. Thunder Clap and Demoralizing Shout hold waves from both corridors.

Bjork

Level ?? elite · Patrols the northwest buildings among the ghoul packs

Short tank and spank. Mighty Blow knocks the tank back, and Anti-Magic Shield makes him immune to spells for 3 sec.

Watch for
  • Mighty BlowTank

Hits the tank for weapon damage plus a bit more and knocks them back.

  • Anti-Magic ShieldTank

2 sec cast, then he is immune to magic for 3 sec. Spells on him fail; physical attacks still land.

Group plan
Tank

Clear the nearby ghoul packs first, then pull him alone. Keep your back to a wall so Mighty Blow can't knock you into another pack.

Healer

Heal the tank through Mighty Blow. Your heals still work during Anti-Magic Shield; only spells cast at him fail.

Damage

Don't pull him with trash; the ghouls nearby hit hard. When Anti-Magic Shield goes up, casters wait 3 sec while physical damage keeps going.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Pause Wrath and Moonfire during Anti-Magic Shield. In Bear Form, keep using Maul and Swipe; they are physical and still land.

  • Hunter · your class

Keep Auto Shot going through Anti-Magic Shield; Arcane Shot and Serpent Sting won't land on him for those 3 sec.

  • Mage · your class

Stop casting when Anti-Magic Shield goes up. Start a Frostbolt or Fireball as it fades so the cast lands right after it drops.

  • Paladin · your class

Keep swinging during Anti-Magic Shield, and save Judgement and Exorcism (20) until it fades; holy damage can't touch him then.

  • Priest · your class

Keep healing through Anti-Magic Shield; your heals still land, but Smite and Mind Blast on him fail. Shield the tank before Mighty Blow.

  • Rogue · your class

Keep attacking through Anti-Magic Shield; your strikes are physical. Use Feint (16), since you pull ahead on threat while casters wait.

  • Shaman · your class

Pause Lightning Bolt and shocks while Anti-Magic Shield is up. Keep Stoneskin Totem by the tank to soften Mighty Blow.

  • Warlock · your class

Don't cast Bane of Agony or Corruption on him during Anti-Magic Shield; they won't land. Your pet's melee still hits. Life Tap, then refresh them.

  • Warrior · your class

Pull him away from the ghoul packs and tank with your back to a wall. Use Shield Block (16) against his big swings.

Rath'mael

Level ?? elite · Fenced graveyard at the center of the ruins

Final boss, a caster. Interrupt or stun Flamestrike, step out if it lands, and heal melee through the fire around him.

Watch for
  • FlamestrikeInterrupt

3 sec cast where the tank stands: fire burns everyone in the area, then again every 2 sec for 8 sec.

  • Fire ShieldHeal through

Burns enemies close to him all fight; guides report melee can't avoid it and must be healed through it.

Group plan
Tank

Clear the mobs around him first. If Flamestrike lands on you, step out of the fire, then pull him clear of it.

Healer

Melee take steady fire damage next to him; keep heals over time on them. Stand away from the tank so Flamestrike can't reach you.

Damage

Set an interrupt order for Flamestrike; stuns also work. If it lands, leave the fire at once. Ranged stand away from the tank.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Bash (14) stops Flamestrike; Feral Charge (talent, 20) does too. Healing: keep Rejuvenation on the melee standing in his fire aura.

  • Hunter · your class

Stand at range, away from the tank, so Flamestrike can't catch you. Your pet takes his fire aura in melee; keep Mend Pet (12) ready.

  • Mage · your class

Stand far from the tank; you can't interrupt until Counterspell at 24. Fire Ward (20) absorbs fire damage if Flamestrike catches you.

  • Paladin · your class

Hammer of Justice stops Flamestrike. Healing: Flash of Light (20) keeps the melee topped off in his fire aura.

  • Priest · your class

Keep Renew on the melee in his fire aura and stand away from the tank. Power Word: Shield whoever Flamestrike catches.

  • Rogue · your class

Kick (12) Flamestrike; Gouge if Kick is on cooldown. You take steady fire damage in melee, so tell the healer before you run low.

  • Shaman · your class

Keep Earth Shock ready for Flamestrike instead of spending it on damage. Healing Stream Totem (20) helps the melee in his fire aura.

  • Warlock · your class

Stand far from the tank so Flamestrike misses you. Curse of the Elements (20) raises the spell damage he takes; keep Bane of Agony up.

  • Warrior · your class

Shield Bash (12) stops Flamestrike if you wear a shield. If it lands under you, step out, then pull him clear of the fire.

Lordaeron Captain

Level ?? rare elite · West side, a chance spawn once the other bosses are dead

Rare

Rare elite undead on a long patrol. A plain tank and spank once you pull him clear of the packs along his path.

Watch for
  • Battle StanceTank

Takes Battle Stance, a warrior's combat stance; no other effect is documented.

Group plan
Tank

Watch his long patrol and pull him away from the packs along it. Then tank him in place; nothing else in the fight is documented.

Healer

Heal the tank through his melee. Stand back from the packs around his patrol so you don't pull extra mobs.

Damage

Clear the packs on his patrol first so nothing joins. Wait for the tank to have him before you attack. Only Horde can fight him.

Each class
  • Druid · your class

Tanking: Faerie Fire (18) is free in Bear Form and adds threat, so pull with it once his path is clear. Healing: Regrowth (12), then Rejuvenation.

  • Hunter · your class

Use Hunter's Mark and pull him to the group once his path is clear. Distracting Shot (12) draws him off a healer for a moment.

  • Mage · your class

Frostbolt from range and stop casting if you near the tank's threat. Skip Polymorph; it doesn't work on undead.

  • Paladin · your class

Use Sense Undead (20) to spot him on his patrol. Exorcism (20) hits undead hard; use it once the tank has a lead on threat.

  • Priest · your class

Shackle Undead (20) an undead from any pack that joins. Keep Renew on the tank through his melee.

  • Rogue · your class

Scout his patrol in Stealth so the group pulls him alone. Attack from behind once the tank has him.

  • Shaman · your class

Drop Earthbind Totem if a pack from his patrol joins. Keep Stoneskin Totem by the tank to blunt his melee.

  • Warlock · your class

Put Curse of Weakness on him to soften his melee on the tank. Skip Fear; a fleeing target here pulls more packs.

  • Warrior · your class

Build threat with Sunder Armor and keep Demoralizing Shout up. Victory Rush (20) heals you after you kill a pack mob.
